About Barmac Asset Management Limited
-
Barmac Asset Management Limited is an “investment boutique” providing specialist research and investment solutions to independent financial advisers and their clients. We manage £75 million and have over 650 clients on a discretionary management basis and are at the forefront of ISA, PEP, pension and portfolio management.
-
The business was originally founded in 1997 and was incorporated in 2006 after the decision was taken to extend our investment management services. For a number of years we have been supplying cutting edge investment research to a number of UK and US based financial institutions. We have also produced two publications: The Barmac Journal (formerly BPR City) and Playing Ftse.
-
Our investment management team is led by Andrew Bartles and Andrew McCarthy who have over 40 years experience in investment markets and are active futures traders. Together, they have incorporated their combined knowledge to produce an investment management process that is designed to minimise the effects of today’s volatile investment markets. The process uses a combination of fundamental research and technical analysis coupled with a strict stop loss strategy.
-
As a business we have formed a number of strategic partnerships with some of the UK’s leading financial institutions to help develop products and services for the benefit of our supporting Independent Financial Advisers and their clients. However, we have not limited our efforts to the UK and accordingly we have now formed an alliance with a Luxembourg based institution, (TOBCO) in order not only to manage investments for those in the UK who wish to hold their assets offshore, but also to manage investments for UK expatriates.

Barmac Asset Management Limited launched in July 2006 an Open Ended Investment Company (OEIC) known as the Castleton Growth Fund. The Fund is open to investments from individuals, companies, trusts, pension funds, ISAs and PEPs.
